Two pools above Lake Maggiore
A private heated pool that belongs to the villa alone, and a 149 m² shared pool for the residence. They are not the same water — here is which is which.
There are two separate swimming pools at Lakeside Harmonies, and they are not the same pool. The villa has its own private heated pool inside its fenced garden — exclusive to villa guests, open all year. The residence also has a 149 m² shared outdoor pool overlooking the lake, unheated and open in summer, which is the pool apartment guests use.
Pool one · exclusive to the villa
The villa's private heated pool
A long lap pool in the villa's own fenced garden, looking out over the lake. No neighbours, no season, no sharing.
The villa's hosts call it the jewel of the house, and it is the reason most guests book. It is heated and available all year, so it works in April and October as well as August. The whole pool area is fully fenced — privacy for adults, safety for children.
Beside the water, a solarium with a panoramic lounge area, sun loungers and seating faces the lake, and a small outdoor fitness area sits under the covered porch on the way down — a workout bench and free weights. Unlike the shared pool, eight pool towels are provided, in a cupboard kept for that purpose.
One honest note from the hosts: the heating runs continuously, but after rain, wind or a cold night the water can take several hours to come back up to temperature, because the pool holds a lot of it. The middle of the day, when the terrace gets full sun, is the best time to swim. The garden and pool area are under video surveillance.
Pool two · shared by the residence
The 149 m² shared pool
The residence's own pool, set in lawns below the houses and open to the lake. This is the pool apartment guests use — and it is rarely busy.
At 149 square metres it is much the larger of the two, positioned on the slope so that the lake fills the horizon while you swim. It is unheated and seasonal, open from 1 June to 30 September.
It is shared among guests of the residence and closed to the public. In practice it stays very quiet, because most of the 28 homes in the residence are unoccupied for much of the year — guests regularly have the whole thing to themselves. Chairs and sun loungers are provided; pool towels and sun umbrellas are not, so bring a beach towel.

Are there really two pools?
Yes, and they are separate. The villa has its own private heated pool in its fenced garden, for its guests only. The residence has a 149 m² shared pool in the lawns below the houses, which is the one apartment guests use. They are different pools in different places.
Which pool do I get?
Is the private pool heated all year?
It is heated and available all year, day or night. After rain, wind or a cold night the water can take several hours to recover its temperature, since the pool holds a large volume — the middle of the day, with full sun on the terrace, is the best time to swim.
How busy does the shared pool get?
Rarely busy. It is closed to the public and shared only among residence guests, and most of the 28 homes are unoccupied for much of the year, so guests often have it entirely to themselves.
Do I need to bring pool towels?
For the shared pool, yes — towels and sun umbrellas are not provided there, though chairs and loungers are. At the villa, no: eight pool towels are provided in a dedicated cupboard, separate from the bathroom towels.
Is there a hot tub as well?
Yes — the villa also has a private indoor hot tub, for its guests only.
